The Darkness, a British rock band formed in Lowestoft, England in 2000. The band consists of Justin Hawkins (lead vocals, lead guitar). Brother Dan Hawkins (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Frankie Polaine (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums, backing vocals).

The Darkness signed memorabilia rose to fame in 2003 with the release of their debut album, Permission to Land. The singles “I Believe in a Thing Called Love”, “Growing on Me”, “Get Your Hands Off My Woman”, and the album “Love Is Only a Feeling” released in the UK. After touring extensively in support of their debut album. Polaine left the band in 2005 and replaced by former guitar technician Richie Edwards. The band’s second studio album, One Way Ticket to Hell…and Back, released in November 2005. The following year, Justin Hawkins left the band after successfully completing a rehabilitation program for alcohol and cocaine abuse. Due to this and poor album sales, Atlantic left the band in October 2006. After disbanding, the remaining members formed the Stone Gods and continued to perform and record without Hawkins, who would go on to front his own project, Hot Legs. On 15 March 2011, The Darkness announced a reunion show with original bassist Frankie Polaine at Download Festival 2011 and Isle of Wight Festival 2012. Their third album, Hot Cakes, released on August 20, 2012. Original drummer Ed Graham subsequently left the group, but at the time he left the band he felt the stress of touring affecting his personal life and had pressing issues. In 2015, her fourth studio album, The Last of Our Kind, announced and released on June 2, 2015. On 4 June 2021, the band announced that their seventh studio album, Motorheart, released on 15 October 2021. Additionally, that they would be touring the UK extensively from November to December 2021.
