John Richard Baldwin (born 3 January 1946) is an English musician, songwriter. Record producer best known as John Paul Jones. The bassist and keyboards for the rock band Led Zeppelin. He worked as a session guitarist and arranger before joining Led Zeppelin autographs with Jimmy Page in 1968. After drummer John Bonham died in 1980, Led Zeppelin disintegrated, and Jones pursued a solo career. He has worked with a wide range of musicians. Including Dave Grohl and Josh Homme in the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures. As a member of Led Zeppelin, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

Additionally, Jones frequently crossed paths with guitarist Jimmy Page, a fellow session veteran, during his stint as a session player. Page joined The Yardbirds in June 1966, and Jones contributed to the band’s Little Games album in 1967. During the sessions for Donovan’s The Hurdy Gurdy Man the following winter, John Paul Jones autographs indicated to Page his wish to be a part of whatever projects the guitarist was preparing.
